I would like to extend a thank you to the members of this Association that attended the 66Th annual convention. Your attendance along with the hard work of Past President Jeff Saunders and his family along with members of Dublin Fire Department and the Convention Committee made it a success.
I would like to Congratulate Mike Stevens on being bestowed with the Above and Beyond award this past year. The way it was presented could not have been more fitting for Mike. Congratulations Mike. I would also like to congratulate Mr. Gary Francis of Riner Fire Department, who was presented with the Life Membership award.
The Southwest Association is truly made up of great people that come together like one big family. I look forward to continuing the progression of the SWVA Association and seeing it grow. It was an honor to be sworn in as your President for this year and I hope to see everyone along with new members in Roanoke, VA for our 67th annual convention. Also I look forward to working with all members and committees this upcoming year. Please feel free to contact me anytime.

The purpose of the Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association is to represent all firefighters, career and volunteer, throughout Southwest Virginia. The association sees that we are represented on both the state and federal levels, through our lobbyist and state representatives.
The Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association also works very closely with the Virginia Department of Fire Programs to get classes in southwest Virginia. Through training we become stronger and more proficient in our skills and abilities to protect our communities and neighbors. Training also keeps us healthier and safer as on organization.
