Learning Partner Scholarship opened January 19th, 2020. One may also request a complimentary evaluation of your professional training, education and military service for possible transfer credit.

Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association Scholarship Fund
The objective of the scholarship program is to assist individuals desiring to further their academic education. The scholarship award will be $500.00 and can be utilized for any direct expenses such as registration, tuition, books, meals, lodging or transportation. The grant period will run from July 1st of the current year to April 30th of the following year.
ELIGIBILITY
(1)Active fire service personnel that are members of the Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association
(2)Spouses and dependents of active fire service personnel that are members of the Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association
SELECTION CRITERIA
Selection of award recipients will be based on demonstrated need, desire, initiative and potential benefits of the educational opportunity.
HOW TO APPLY
Complete the scholarship application and send to the address listed below.
The grant period will run from July 1st of the current year to April 30th of the following year.
Successful applicants will be notified by May 15th of the current convention year. Verification of attendance will be required. Awardees will be recognized at the Annual Convention.

I would like to take a moment and welcome all of you to the Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association. I hope you find the information provided on our social media platforms useful.
I would like to say a special thank you to the Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association for their support and backing and Christiansburg Fire Department for their continued support. It is an honor and privilege to lead an organization with so many hardworking individuals, both volunteer and career. One full of history, honor and brotherhood. It is a great honor to follow the tradition of the past 74 presidents. As your current president of the association, I would like to thank our past President William (Bill) Nunley and all of the officers of the association for their hard work and dedication.
Currently the Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association has over 2,200 active members and we are always looking for new member to join. Please feel free to email with any questions you may have as we are always here to help. Our goal as an organization is to represent and advocate for the fire service at the local, state and federal levels.
The association hosts an annual conference with vendors, training and competition.
I would like to invite everyone to come out and join me at the 75th Annual Southwest Virginia Firefighter’s Association Convention on June 17-19, 2021 in Kingsport, TN at the Meadowview Conference Resort & Convention Center. I look forward to seeing each and every one of you there.

The Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association would like to welcome the Jonesville Volunteer Fire Department as the newest membsers of the Southwest Association.
Jonesville Volunteer Fire Department is located in Lee County with 31 active members.
