Scholarship Reminder
The 2023 Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association Scholarship application process is still open. The deadline is 30 April, 2023.
Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association Scholarship Fund
The objective of the scholarship program is to assist individuals desiring to further their academic education. The scholarship award will be $500.00 and can be utilized for any direct expenses such as registration, tuition, books, meals, lodging or transportation. The grant period will run from July 1st of the current year to April 30th of the following year.
ELIGIBILITY
(1)Active fire service personnel that are members of the Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association
(2)Spouses and dependents of active fire service personnel that are members of the Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association
SELECTION CRITERIA
Selection of award recipients will be based on demonstrated need, desire, initiative and potential benefits of the educational opportunity.

2021 Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association Convention
The 75th Annual Convention is still planned for 17-20 June, 2021 in Kingsport, TN.
The association will follow the COVID-19 Guidelines that are in place at the time of the convention.

2021 Winter Business Meeting
The 2021 Winter Business Meeting that is scheduled for 24 January, 2021 at Dublin Volunteer Fire Department has been changed to a ZOOM meeting. This was changed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Members should have received a link to this meeting by email. If you did not receive the link to the meeting please contact the Secretary and request a link.
Barren Springs Volunteer Fire Department Fish Fry & Gun Raffle
The Barren Springs Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting its annual Fish Fry on 13 September, 2020.
At this event they will be drawing for the items for the 2020 Annual Raffle.
The items for the raffle this year are:
1st Prize: Savage 110 tactical 6.5 Creedmore
2nd Prize: Ruger American Ranch 300 blackout
3rd Prize: Handmade knife by Michael Erwin (Model SK-1) value at $250
Raffle tickets are $5.00 each, See any Barren Springs Firefighter or contact Chief Joshua Stitt at 540-239-8464 with questions or for tickets.

2020 Virginia Fire Rescue Conference
